Date:

A political aide to the senator representing Ogun West at the National Assembly, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Iziaq Abass, has distributed 5Kg bags of rice and N10,000 each to 900 people as a support in the ongoing fasting in the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Abass popularly known as ‘Zacobass’ who distributed the food items and cash during a Ramadan Lecture he organized in Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, explained that he decided to dole out the bags of rice and cash to complement and support Senator Adeola’s annual gesture to Muslims during Ramadan fasting.

He added that the religious programme was equally organized to offer special prayers for the senator who according to him, has transformed Ogun West through various infrastructural and socioeconomic interventions.

Abbas, who stressed that the lecture was also aimed at bringing together and fostering unity among the Muslim faithful in Ayetoro town, stated further that the distribution of the goodies to the people is to express his gratitude to God for His love, protection and mercy over Nigeria, Ogun State and Yewa North LG.

While urging the people to continue to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Adeola, he declared that he would continue to emulate the philanthropic gesture of the senator in Ayetoro and its environ in order to bring succour to the people.

In his sermon, a renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Jamiu Sanusi otherwise known as ‘Aamin Olohun’, charged Muslims to sustain the piety they are currently upholding beyond the Holy Month of Ramadan.

He further admonished them to ensure that they thank God every time, be faithful in their duties to Him and continue to be kind to their neighbours irrespective of their religious beliefs.

The cleric who called on Nigerian leaders to prioritize the welfare of the poor and ensure the delivery of good governance as promised during political campaigns, said every leader will give account of his or her stewardship before God.

Sheikh Jamiu, however, commended Abbas for organizing the Ramadan lecture and doling out the food item and money to the people, pointing out that such a kind gesture should be emulated by well-to-do individuals, especially during the fasting period.

While describing Senator Adeola as a man of the people who has used political office to make positive impacts on the lives of his constituents, the cleric praised his achievements as a senator, highlighting his dedication to serving the people.

He commended Abass for his loyalty and commitment to the Senator, praying for the success of Adeola’s governorship aspiration in Ogun come 2027.

The Ramadan lecture was attended by other notable Islami.clerics, political leaders, market women, youth organizations and community leaders.
