Lemo Sends Easter Message of Hope, Says Nigeria on Path to Growth

Date:

As Christians across Nigeria and the world commemorate the Easter season, a message of hope, sacrifice, and renewal has been extended to the people of Ogun State and Nigerians at large.

A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. Tunde Lemo in his Easter message said Easter, beyond its religious significance, serves as a profound reminder of the power of sacrifice, the triumph of hope over despair, and the enduring assurance that renewal is always possible through determination and resilience.

Lemo, a strong contender for the office of Ogun State Governor, maintained that the sacrifices made in recent years by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration are beginning to yield positive outcomes, particularly in the areas of economic stability and growth.

He noted that while current increases in energy costs largely driven by external factors may momentarily slow the full realisation of these gains, he posited that they are viewed as a temporary phase that will subside in due course.

He encouraged Nigerians to embrace the core values symbolised by Easter, including love, tolerance, unity, and selfless service.

According to him, these virtues remain essential in the collective effort to build a stronger Nigeria and a more prosperous Ogun State where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

He added that as Easter marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ, it also presents an opportunity for Nigerians to renew their hope in good governance, strengthen trust in one another, and reaffirm their shared commitment to building a better future.

Lemo said: “Easter is more than a celebration. It is a reminder of the power of sacrifice, the triumph of hope over despair, and the assurance that renewal is always possible – through determination and resilience.

“In the spirit of this season, we acknowledge the foresight and courage of our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. The sacrifices of the past three years are beginning to bear fruit in economic stability and growth. While the current spike in energy costs – largely exogenous – may seem to delay the full benefits of these reforms, it is a temporary phase that will pass in due course”.

He also prayed: “May this Easter rekindle in us the virtues of love, tolerance, unity and selfless service. May it also strengthen our resolve to build a Nigeria, and an Ogun State, where every citizen can thrive”.

Lemo admonished the citizens, saying: “As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us also resurrect our hope in good governance, renew our trust in one another, and reaffirm our determination to build the future we deserve – for we are more than conquerors.”
