NPFL: Remo Stars pip 3SC in derby, Rivers United lose to Wolves

Remo Stars defeated Shooting Stars 1-0 in the South-West derby clash in Ikenne on Sunday.

Samuel Anakwe’s 49th minute strike separated both teams on the night.

Remo Stars moved out of the relegation zone following the hard-earned win.

In Ozoro, Rivers United stumbled in the title race, going down 2-0 to Warri Wolves.

Igbunu Evwierhurhoma opened the scoring for Wolves from the penalty spot in the 12th minute.

Othuke Egbo scored the second on 90 minutes.

Rivers United dropped to second position in the log following the defeat.

Rangers reclaimed top spot albeit on goal difference following a 0-0 home draw with Barau FC.

Bottom club Kun Khalifat recorded the only away win of the day, edging past title chasing Nasarawa United 1-0 at the Lafia City Stadium.

Stanley Otu fired home the winner deep into stoppage time.
