Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, fondly known as Triple A, has extended warm congratulations to Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial flagbearer for the 2027 general election in Ogun State. He described the moment as both historic and deeply symbolic, noting that it represents a long-awaited opportunity for Ogun West to produce a governor fifty years after the state’s creation.
Triple A, as he is fondly called, also commended the leadership of the APC for demonstrating unity, foresight, and discipline throughout the process, while appreciating Governor Dapo Abiodun for fostering a peaceful and inclusive path to consensus. He noted that the Governor’s statesmanship has once again reinforced the party’s ability to rise above division in pursuit of shared progress and purpose.
He further paid tribute to elder statesmen and former governors Akinrogun Olusegun Osoba, Senator Gbenga Daniel, and Senator Ibikunle Amosun, whose consistent advocacy and principled commitment over the years sustained the Ogun West governorship aspiration, describing the moment as a fitting reward for their perseverance and sacrifices.
Recalling the broader journey, Akinlade acknowledged the contributions of past gubernatorial candidates from Ogun West, including General Adetunji Olurin, Senator Akin Odunsi, and Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, as well as his own 2019 candidacy under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). He noted that their collective efforts, rooted in grassroots engagement and a firm belief in equity, helped lay the foundation for the present achievement.
In his words, Akinlade said, “As we move forward, I reaffirm my unwavering loyalty to the APC and call on all party members and stakeholders to set aside our differences and unite behind Senator Yayi in the spirit of unity and progress. The task ahead demands discipline, cohesion, and a shared vision to secure victory in the 2027 general election. I am confident that this historic opportunity will usher in a new era of inclusive and people-driven governance in Ogun State.
