Seven Years After Leaving Office, Ex-Councillor Appeals to Abiodun to Pay Severance

Date:

Ex-councillors have sent a heartfelt appeal to the current Governor, Dapo Abiodun, to pay their severance, furniture allowance, two months’ salary, and sitting allowances that have been denied them since they left office in 2019.

Representing councillors who served between 2016 and 2019, Gbenga Adekanmbi, Musiliu Oladeinde, and Olusola Balogun stated in a statement that all efforts to persuade Abiodun to pay the severance, furniture allowance, two months’ salary, and sitting allowances have failed.

They lamented that this has caused them financial, mental, and physical distress and that the value of their allowances has significantly depreciated.

The former local government political officers appealed to the governor to consider their plight in this current period of hardship. PDA is in charge and we are in the same party.
