Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Chairman, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to accessible and quality healthcare following an inspection of the newly reconstructed Primary Healthcare Centre in Ilogbo-Asowo Community.
The chairman visited the facility on Thursday, June 4, 2026, to assess the extent of work carried out on the health centre, a project supported by UNICEF in partnership with the Ogun State Primary Health Care Development Board.
During the inspection, Lawal praised both organisations for their efforts in strengthening healthcare infrastructure and expanding access to quality medical services at the grassroots level. He described the upgraded facility as a major investment in the wellbeing of residents of Ilogbo-Asowo and neighbouring communities, expressing confidence that it would significantly improve healthcare delivery and create a better working environment for medical personnel.
“The upgraded facility represents a significant investment in the health and wellbeing of the people of Ilogbo-Asowo and adjoining communities,” the chairman said.

He noted that the improved health centre would enhance service delivery, support healthcare workers with a more conducive environment and contribute to better health outcomes for residents across the area.
Lawal also reiterated his administration’s resolve to ensure the facility remains safe, accessible and properly maintained. According to him, the local government will take all necessary steps to protect the investment and guarantee that residents derive maximum benefit from the project.
As part of efforts to further improve services at the centre, the chairman disclosed that discussions would begin with the Health Secretary of the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Health Authority, Dr. Jeleel Bakare, and the council’s Director of Works to identify additional interventions needed within the facility.
He stressed that quality healthcare remains a vital pillar of sustainable development and assured residents that his administration would continue to support initiatives aimed at improving public health and community welfare.
Accompanying the chairman during the inspection were Dr. Jeleel Bakare, Health Secretary of the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Health Authority, and Mr. Agboyinu Peter, Administrative Officer of the authority.
The visit underscores the chairman’s continued focus on monitoring developmental projects across the local government and ensuring that public facilities deliver meaningful value to the communities they are intended to serve.
