The Ogun State chapter of the Inter–Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has congratulated former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the occasion of his 89th birthday, describing him as a towering statesman whose life has been dedicated to the service of Nigeria and humanity.
In a felicitation message issued on behalf of the council’s leadership and members, the Ogun IPAC Chairman, Sanyaolu Abayomi, praised the elder statesman for his courage, patriotism, discipline and unwavering commitment to the unity and democratic development of the country.
The council noted that Obasanjo’s contributions to nation-building, both as a military leader and as a democratically elected president, remain significant milestones in Nigeria’s political history and continue to inspire leaders and citizens across generations.
According to the council, the former president’s wisdom, frank counsel and fatherly guidance have played a crucial role in strengthening democratic values and promoting political stability in Nigeria.
“Baba’s life of service stands as a beacon for leaders and young Nigerians to emulate,” the statement said.
It added that Obadabjo’s role as a proud son of Ogun State and a respected figure in Africa has continued to attract global admiration.
The council prayed for continued good health, strength and divine protection for the former president, urging him to sustain his tradition of speaking truth to power and mentoring emerging leaders for the benefit of the nation.
IPAC Ogun also reaffirmed its appreciation of Obasanjo’s enduring legacy of leadership and statesmanship, wishing him many more years of peaceful and impactful life.
