The Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, Lawal Adewale Wasiu, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful and children across the council area as they celebrate Eid al-Adha and Children’s Day, calling for modest celebrations, unity, and heightened security consciousness during the festive period.

In a statement signed and issued by the Chief Information and Public Relations Officer of the council, Alabi Sheriff, the council chairman described the coincidence of both celebrations as a significant moment that reflects the enduring values of faith, sacrifice, peace, unity, and the importance of investing in the future of children.

Hon. Wasiu congratulated Muslim families on the Eid al-Adha celebration and prayed that the spirit of sacrifice, obedience, and compassion demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) would continue to inspire residents toward peaceful coexistence and communal progress.

He also celebrated children across Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, assuring them of his administration’s commitment to building a safer and more supportive environment where every child can grow, learn, and thrive with dignity.

“To every child in Ado-Odo/Ota LGA, I wish you a joyful and memorable Children’s Day celebration. Our administration remains committed to creating an enabling environment where children can thrive, learn, and grow in safety and dignity,” the chairman stated.

While urging residents to celebrate responsibly, Hon. Wasiu appealed to members of the public to remain vigilant and security conscious throughout the festivities.

“As we celebrate, let us do so with modesty and mindfulness. I urge all residents to be security conscious, look out for one another, and promptly report any suspicious movement or criminal activity to the nearest police station,” he said.

The council boss further disclosed that a Joint Security Task Force has already been deployed across strategic locations within the local government as part of proactive measures to safeguard lives and property before, during, and after the celebrations.

According to him, the task force, working closely with conventional security agencies, will maintain visible patrols and surveillance operations to ensure peaceful and hitch-free festivities across the council area.

The management of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government subsequently wished Muslim faithful and children a peaceful, memorable, and joyous Eid al-Adha and Children’s Day celebration.
