Date:

The Olotu of Ota, Aworiland, Chief Jide Ojuko, has extended warm Eid al-Adha greetings to Muslims across Ogun State, urging residents to embrace the values of sacrifice, peace, love, and unity as they celebrate the 2026 Ileya festival.

In a goodwill message made available to journalists on Wednesday, Chief Ojuko described Eid al-Adha as a sacred season that reminds humanity of total obedience to God, compassion for one another, and the importance of peaceful coexistence in society.

He congratulated Muslim faithful for witnessing another Eid celebration and prayed for divine blessings, progress, and prosperity across Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.

“Eid al-Adha is a celebration of faith, sacrifice, and gratitude to Almighty Allah. It is a time to show love to our neighbours, support the less privileged, and renew our commitment to peace and unity in our communities,” he said.

Chief Ojuko further encouraged Muslims to use the festive period to pray for continued peace, economic stability, and development in Ogun State and across the country.

“As we celebrate this special season, I pray that Almighty Allah accepts our sacrifices, answers our prayers, and fills every home with peace, joy, and abundant blessings. May this festival strengthen the bonds of unity among our people,” he added.

The community leader also sent special greetings to the people of Ota ahead of the 2026 Ita Oba Day celebration scheduled to hold tomorrow at the Olota Palace Square in Okede, Ota.

Chief Ojuko described Ita Oba Day as a significant cultural celebration that reflects the rich heritage, unity, and pride of the people of Ota, while commending the traditional institution for preserving the customs and values of the ancient town.

“I specially felicitate with the good people of Ota as they prepare for the Ita Oba Day celebration. Our culture remains our pride and identity, and this celebration is another opportunity to promote unity, peace, and development in our dear town,” he stated.

He also called on residents and visitors expected at the event to celebrate responsibly and peacefully while supporting efforts aimed at sustaining harmony and progress in Ota and its surrounding communities.
