APC Abeokuta North Ward 16 Inaugurates 560 Polling Units Yayi Ambassadors, Targets Total Victory In 2027

Date:

As part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibara-Orile/Onisasa Ward 16, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, has inaugurated 560 Yayi Ambassadors and Polling Booths Executive across 28 polling booths.

The inauguration, held on Thursday at Ibara-Orile, was organised to mobilise support for the APC and its candidates, particularly Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan, popularly known as Yayi, who is being projected by the group as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election.

Speaking at the event, the convener and APC leader in Ward 16, Hon. Ifekayode Akinbode, said the initiative was designed to demonstrate the ward’s commitment to the political ambition of Yayi and other APC candidates.

Akinbode, who described himself as a strong supporter of Yayi, said he had been associated with the senator’s political journey for about 10 years, adding that he was determined to ensure that Ward 16 remained a stronghold of the APC.

He said, “I have to bell the cat because this is my ward. I have to put it together to let them know that Ibara-Orile/Onisasa Ward 16 is a no-go area for the opposition.”

According to him, the ward would work for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, as well as the emergence of Senator Yayi as the next governor of Ogun State.

He also pledged support for Senator Afolabi Salisu, Hon. Olumide Osoba, Hon. Abayomi Tella and other APC candidates contesting various elective positions.

Akinbode explained that the exercise was tagged “Ibo Molebi”, meaning “family vote”, because of what he described as Yayi’s ancestral connection to Isaga-Orile in Abeokuta North Local Government Area.

He dismissed claims questioning Yayi’s indigene status in Ogun State, describing such claims as false, insisting that the senator is an indigene of the state.

Also speaking, a former member of the House of Representatives and APC leader in Abeokuta North Local Government Area, Chief Bode Mustapha, expressed confidence in the party’s candidates, saying their performance in office would help secure victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.

Chief Mustapha said, “All my candidates are performers, starting from Mr. President, to Senators, federal House of Representatives members and to State House of Assembly members. I have so much confidence in all our candidates and with that I am very confident that we will win resoundingly in our polling booths.”

In his remarks, the member representing Abeokuta North/Obafemi Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Olumide Osoba, commended party members for their grassroots efforts and sacrifices, describing them as the “oxygen” of the party.

Osoba assured constituents that they should expect more developmental initiatives during the current tenure, promising that he and other elected representatives would continue working for the people.

Similarly, the APC Chairperson in Abeokuta North Local Government Area, Alhaja Faidat Akintunde Sarumi, urged party members to remain united and work closely with the election committee to secure victory for the APC.

Sarumi said the party’s objective was to win every vote across all the 16 wards in Abeokuta North Local Government Area, stressing the need for members to close ranks ahead of the 2027 elections.

Also, present at the event are Chairman APC Ward 16, Abeokuta North LG, Hon. Aliu Omosowon, Party Chieftain, Sunkanmi Oyejide, Popularly known as Suco; General Secretary APC Abeokuta North LG, Funmilayo Olaonipekun, Woman leader APC Abeokuta North; Ward 16 Councillor, Party leaders in Abeokuta North, Party leaders in Ward 16 and host of others.
